PRIVATE RESIDENCE

The initial project started out as a master suite renovation. The suite, located on the second floor and overlooking the backyard, was created that featured his-and-her bathrooms, separate walk-in-closets, and vaulted skylights in the hallways. After the initial meetings, the project scope evolved into a multi-phase project that added on a new family room, mud/utility room, powder bath, guest suite, and an indoor gymnasium, all to better address and support a growing and busy family.

Our clients wanted to expand their existing bar, wine, and cigar storage into a new one-of-a-kind room. Deeply fond of their Italian heritage, they also wanted to bring an “old-world” feel into this project to be reminded of the unique character they experienced in Italian cellars. The dramatic tone of the space revolves around the signature piece of the project; a custom milled stone spiral stair that provides access from the first floor to the entry of the room.

35 acres, 100 years, and a myriad of custom brackets boldly define this Italiante home. This project required undoing years of insensitive additions and renovation work including major former additions. Yet, with our architecture, the home was modernized, corrected and refined design was able to shine. Detailed research, custom finishes and extensive millwork all make this home a true gem that marries its heritage with modern living.

Bringing back the best. This 80 year old home had seen its fair share of renovations. Before beginning, we paired everything back, which allowed our design for the kitchen with an amazing barrel vault ceiling, family living area, and pool patio areas to shine with meaningful, elegant design. Strong statements continued with the new attached garage, covered drive and updated exterior featuring timeless double cedar shingles.

This 1936 home is an extremely well built and detailed home and it was our task to add on and renovate so that the entire home looks as if it could have all been original. We added an attached garage, instead of the keeping the single detached garage. The garage addition connects to a Mud Room that was not available in the original house. A substantially expanded Kitchen includes a large island and a spacious nook which overlooks the newly designed rear yard and patio space. The Second floor added significant space to the Master Suite with His and Hers baths and Walk-in Closets. An additional bath and closet were added to the daughter’s bedroom making all bedrooms suite arrangements.

Perfecting a home from the outside in. With an ideal corner homesite and fantastic neighborhood, our design included a front porch expansion, exterior activity area and round tower – anchoring a beautiful home in its beautiful surroundings and correcting formerly complicated roof lines. A new master bedroom, bath, expanded kitchen and first floor sitting room make this home captivating inside and out!

This home addition was intended to expand the home to provide the space needed for the growing new family. The kitchen project became an obvious necessity after the expansion of a family area to the rear of the home. The existing kitchen was gutted, expanded and opened up to a family room and nook area.
