As the president and lead Architect for award winning CBI Design Professionals, Robert is responsible for design and client advocacy in all aspects of a client’s design project and subsequent construction. Known for his architectural expertise, he has designed and overseen construction of luxury homes, multi-family projects, churches and commercial structures both new and renovated throughout Michigan and several other states. Prior to co-founding the firm, he was the architectural manager for Bruce E Bordener and Associates and preceding that, he was owner of Clarke Building and Alterations where he was the builder for residential renovation projects. Robert also has responsibility for the day to day operations of the company as President and Owner.
Robert has multiple degrees in Architecture from Lawrence Institute of Technology, including a Master’s of Architecture, Professional Degree in Architecture and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Architecture. He also holds a degree from Rochester College. Robert is licensed to practice architecture in the State of Michigan and has held licenses in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and Colorado. He also holds a national certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and maintains an active position as a member of the American Institute of Architecture, AIA Michigan and AIA Detroit.
Robert is an adjunct faculty in the Architecture Department of Oakland Community College, Auburn Hills Michigan. This position, along with his work as a supervisor for NCARB’s intern development program (IDP), has helped to ensure the long term development of future architects.
Robert has held multiple positions with volunteer and non-profit organizations. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees with Rochester College and Michigan Christian Youth Camp. Rob enjoys hiking and traveling to Europe and other fun locations when not busy designing his clients’ dreams.
