Located on an island in Waterford, this multi-level lakefront residence was designed to demonstrate that traditional architecture can feel both sophisticated and highly livable.

The project presented a number of unique challenges, including navigating its design and construction during the global pandemic. Completed in 2023, the resulting residence brings together classical proportions, enduring materials, custom craftsmanship, and spaces designed around the way the homeowners live and entertain.
Throughout the home, expansive walls of windows introduce abundant natural light while capturing views of the surrounding water. The relationship between the interior and exterior was carefully considered, with outdoor living areas extending the home’s gathering spaces and creating natural opportunities to enjoy the lakefront setting.
Inside, custom millwork and thoughtfully selected materials establish a sense of continuity from room to room. The kitchen combines premium appliances, extensive storage, and generous work surfaces to accommodate both everyday family meals and larger celebrations.
The Great Room is defined by its soaring volume and traditional structural elements. Although impressive in scale, the careful use of architectural detailing and materials gives the room a comfortable and inviting character.
The home’s lower level was created with recreation and entertaining in mind. A private gymnasium provides space for the family to remain active throughout the year, while billiards, shuffleboard, and several gathering areas offer a variety of options for hosting family and friends.
A sophisticated wine cellar and cigar lounge provide a more intimate setting nearby. One of the home’s most unexpected features is a concealed spiral staircase connecting these lower-level spaces directly to the Primary Suite—an imaginative detail that reflects the personalized nature of the residence.
By balancing traditional architectural principles with spaces tailored to contemporary life, this residence honors the past without feeling constrained by it. The result is a distinctive family retreat designed for everyday comfort, meaningful gatherings, and lasting memories.
